Back to the Bush: Another Year in the Wild is the tale of a second year at Sasekile Private Game Reserve for Angus MacNaughton, his brother Hugh and the melange of outlandish characters who staff and visit the lodge.

Then there are a series of further ‘hiccups’, from demanding lodge guests and marauding monkeys, to a labour protest, a run-in with a blind-drunk head chef, a winter drought, a rogue elephant that puts staff and guests in danger and the resignation of the sterling head ranger.

I like James Hendry as a presenter on Wild Earth's Safari ...

I like James Hendry as a presenter on Wild Earth's Safari Live. When I found out he wrote books I immediately found them to purchase. I like his sense of humor. I knew some of the places and animals he was talking about. I really had a feel for the inter workings of the game reserves and what they go through. I really enjoyed the book!

Great read

James Hendrey is a guide on wildsafarlive.com with National Geographic Wild. They broadcast two live safaris from Africa every day. This book is a result of his insights and love of Africa. His other book is great also and should be read first, A Year in the Bush. Recommend both for fun reads!

A relaxing and amusing read

James Hendry's first novel was a great read and this follow up is both entertaining and credible. His characters are true to life and one can picture the foreign tourists as if you were interacting with them.
