Tolstoy bares his soul . . .

If you want to see a great mind at work, baring his soul, his conscience and his past as he struggles with coming to terms with the inconsistencies of modern day religion, then this short book is for you. If you don't get anything else out of this, you will get a good lesson in how to approach questions like these.

I really like Tolstoy's works, all of which are masterpieces. This work tells us his confession toward Christianity at his late middle age almost 50. God's work is amazing. Through this book Tolstoy try to let us know how God changed him even he was very famous standing in this world at that time. Finally, I really like his own dream described at the end of the book.

Gruesome, bloody and fun!

This is one of those lovely, dark books that's gruesome and bloody and just somehow hits the spot. Sam is isolated and lonely and her visions are sapping the strength from her. The saddest thing is that she doesn't know how to help herself. She's managed to keep herself on a relatively even keel but she's on the verge of breaking - both physically and mentally.

Who wouldn't be, really, when they're forced to live the last moments of different women's lives? Painful, hopeless, agonizing moments that Sam can't escape. Yeah, I feel for the girl. She's a mess through no fault of her own and when she tries to do the right thing and alert the police she gets stepped on and ridiculed. Watching her slowly allow Brandt into her life is a slow, sweet ride. It doesn't hurt that Brandt is a decent guy. He's not completely sold on the validity of Sam's ability but he treats her with respect.

In the end, this is Sam's story. It's about her coming to terms with her gift and learning to control it. Dale Mayer has crafted a believable world and likeable characters that just happen to end up splattered with blood at the end of a long night. A highly enjoyable read.

Mind Bending and Bone Chilling

Dale Mayer's debut thriller pits a serial killer against a woman forced to contend with a horrifying form of psychic empathy. When the killer strikes, Samantha Blair experiences the attack as if she were the woman being targeted. Terrified by her visions, she knows she has to share her knowledge with the police. But will they believe her?

I found Sam to be a heroine I wanted to root for as well as protect. She's a waif, and there's a vicious killer stalking her. But Sam is stronger than she appears, and I loved watching Brandt as he came to terms with her psychic abilities. Some wonderful secondary characters round out the cast of this chilling story. I don't often read books that could give me nightmares, but after I finished the first scene, I found it impossible to put the book down. It's clear why it was finalist in the Brava Writing With The Stars Contest. Here's looking forward to many more wonderful stories by Dale Mayer.

Great Psychic Read!

I'm a big fan of novels like this, where there are slight cases of the paranormal, in the form of psychics. Dale Meyer's Tuesday's Child was riveting until the very last page. Sam's life was heartbreaking and although I don't know what it's like to be in her position, I still felt for her and connected with her. I'm pretty excited about reading more in this series.

I don't read too many crime novels these days. But Tuesday's Child reminds me of what I'm missing. I loved the mystery, I loved all the twists Dale Meyer's threw out at the reader. When I thought I had it all figured out, something changed and I was left guessing all over again. Sam's kind of psychic talents was shocking. It made the story very intriguing and kept me reading, hoping that Sam would find some peace.

This promises to be the start of a very riveting series. While Sam's story appears to be done, we will get to meet whole new characters and get swept away in another thriller.

Perfection 2.0 (Fading= Perfection 1.0)

This topic is so epically dear to my heart that I have no words to express how proud I am of this author for using her lady balls to pen this beautiful love story. Equality & love is something we all deserve so I'm ecstatic to see it brought to light. I was concerned how the telling of the story would unfold but was so relieved that it doesn't seem she shied away from just being as authentic as possible.

Jase is the perfect counterpoint to Candace. They are truly damaged perfection. I will love them both eternally. Although it will forever be Ryan Campbell who has every spare shred of my full heart. I can NOT WAIT for Falling & to wrap myself in Ryan's love story with Candace again and again.

I highly recommend this book to anyone (obviously who loved Fading) or with an open mind about the fact that at our hearts we all just want to be safe, accepted & loved for who we are.

E.K. Blair: I am a straight married female who feels strongly that love is love no matter what. I sincerely thank and applaud you for telling this story. I know there will be backlash for your progressive novel, but personally I know its worth it.

A repeat....

This book is disappointing, it's just a repeat of the first book. It's Jase point of view, Candace best friend that's gay. When I read the first book, I liked Jay and I wanted to learn more about him and Mark. I wanted to see how Jase and Mark fell in love. Yes we get pieces of them together. I felt like Mark and Jase relationship was almost robotic and rushed. But like I said it was a repeat, more Candace than anything. I was to the point that I started to dislike her and her crying and I didn't want Candace to be mention anymore in this book. Why? Because we already had her story in book 1 and we know she has another coming up with Ryan. So I get that Candace and Jase have their own unique relationship, (non sexual) but sometimes it was too much. It felt like Candace and Jase were in a relationship and Mark was the third wheel. I just got bored.

Holy cow. I didn't know if I could possibly love Jase's story in Freeing more than I loved Candace's story in Fading, but I did. And here's why-- E.K. Blair effortlessly manages to tell Jase's story in a way that feels both independent and interwoven with Candace's, but never repetitive. Freeing largely revolves around Jase struggling with his insecurities, and his eventual acceptance of his own worth. By the end of the book, I felt like I was leaving my best friend behind. What surprised me most was how much I absolutely fell head-over-flip-flops for Mark. I liked him in Fading, but meeting Mark through Jase's eyes was such a pleasure that I found myself with a new book boyfriend (and I totally don't care that he's not into girls, I'm claiming him). Just like in Candace's story in Fading, Jase's journey in Freeing is riddled with emotional potholes and a sense of realism I just don't see as often as I'd like. Every character felt like someone I could easily meet at my corner coffee shop. The only part of this book I really didn't like was that it had to end eventually. I wanted to live in those pages with Jase and Mark forever.

The romance novel has the strange distinction of being the most popular but least respected of literary genres. While it remains consistently dominant in bookstores and on best-seller lists, it is also widely dismissed by the critical community. Scholars have alleged that romance novels help create subservient readers, who are largely women, by confining heroines to stories that ignore issues other than love and marriage. Pamela Regis argues that such critical studies fail to take into consideration the personal choice of readers, offer any true definition of the romance novel, or discuss the nature and scope of the genre. Presenting the counterclaim that the romance novel does not enslave women but, on the contrary, is about celebrating freedom and joy, Regis offers a definition that provides critics with an expanded vocabulary for discussing a genre that is both classic and contemporary, sexy and entertaining. Taking the stance that the popular romance novel is a work of literature with a brilliant pedigree, Regis asserts that it is also a very old, stable form. She traces the literary history of the romance novel from canonical works such as Richardson's Pamela through Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Bronte's Jane Eyre, and E. M. Hull's The Sheik, and then turns to more contemporary works such as the novels of Georgette Heyer, Mary Stewart, Janet Dailey, Jayne Ann Krentz, and Nora Roberts.

From My 6& a half year old daughter" Dad I know and understand I came from mommies tummy, but how am I part of you" . After experiencing my first innocent enquiring question which I know I didn't give the correct answer from the look of "you not telling me the while truth. I have vowed to go with the truth from now on. But how do you do that, some of these questions about sex can and are very intimidating and embarrassing. Dr Lance you're a scream, most of these questions would make me blush but your honest and open approach has paved the way for me. Thank you for the book. Up to ? 186. Brilliant eye-opener!

I can understand why this book has been marketed to boys and their parents and educators BUT as Dad of a two teen girls (aged 13 and 15) I think this is indispensable reading for any parent responsible for guiding their daughters through the vagaries of middle and high school! Of course it is awkward to deal with these topics (and this book helps with that) but it is totally TERRIFYING not to know what one is dealing with these days in the minds of the boys that surround them. I feel much more at ease knowing and so does my wife. Forewarned is forearmed! We both highly recommend you bite the bullet and buy this book!
