This story is just as much about Stevie as it is about the plight of our narrator. It is about a brave boy who lives with his Cerebral Palsy and his mother who learns everything there is to know about how to make Stevie’s life as pleasant as possible.
With each downfall, our narrator proves what a fighter she is as she rises from the ashes like an undefeatable phoenix.

Timeless Values Told in Unique Fashion

There are simple things that were taught to us all in our younger years. Lessons that tend to get lost in the deluge of daily life through the years, although their importance and relevance remain constant. Seen through the eyes of not just the author, one can easily get lost in the narrative of a time when you knew your neighbors' names. This book is an excellent reminder of what joys abound in daily life.

Captivating and Inspiring

This book takes the reader on a turbulent adventure through the life of a young woman. As it progresses you soon find that she suffered great adversity and makes it through with tenacity and perseverance. Anyone who reads this book cannot help but to be inspired. It makes you see life through ones perception that most probably haven't even considered before unless they themselves have been through something similar. As a godparent to a special needs child, this book strikes a personal cord, and expressed a mothers love for such a child beautifully. A wonderful read that I highly recommend.

I truly enjoyed getting to know the people in the book

Fabulous read, I truly enjoyed getting to know the people in the book, and loving, and loathing, and feeling truly sorry for some. Having been closely entrenched in the system, in the handicapped area, in the emotional, the state, all of it, it truly is eye opening to what can happen without regulation and watchful eyes. I would highly recommend this to anyone, with or without a handicap. It portrays a mother's love, endurance and persistence that each of us need to cultivate. It shows the evolution of maturity and the kindness of people. Highly recommend. Loved it Miss Midge and Mr. John. There is a special place in heaven for you both.
