Prisrob top 100 reviewer, "(T)he author has written a cute book for children about dinosaurs, the kind that eat vegetables and fruits, not meat. The illustrations depict the adventures of the boy. Upon reading the book, you will learn about many dinosaurs. I like children's books that have a lesson to be learned." Review by Barbara Ann Mojica, "Dinosaur treats. Short bedtime story about a little boy who loves plant-eating dinosaurs because he fears the carnivores who eat each each other and just might want to eat him! The boy hopes these herbivores become his friends. Every night, after his mom reads a bedtime story about herbivores, he carefully unwraps the vegetable he has hidden in a napkin for them and places them on his windows He even shows his dinosaur friends how to eat them and invites them to his bed." Author Bob Strauss writes "pretty much every kid in the world goes through a “dinosaur phase,” when he or she eats, sleeps and breathes dinosaurs. But he knows, for a fact, that they're no longer around. A Tyrannosaurus Rex, no matter how huge and hungry, is thus rendered completely safe. No one tells a full-grown Stegosaurus that he has to go to bed, finish his peas before he can have dessert, or take care of his baby sister. Dinosaurs represent, in kids' minds, the ultimate: when they want something, they go out and get it, and nothing had better stand in their way. The reason parents don't mind when their kid pretends to be a fierce Allosaurus is that this kind of “disobedience” allows him to harmlessly blow off steam; it's better to deal with a pesky dinosaur than a child having an ugly tantrum." Many parents know this behavior all too well. Get this charming book, "MY FAVORITES ARE THE HERBIVORES. HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH A PLANT EATING DINOSAUR." By Andy Williams now.

From the Author
My pen name is Andy Williams. I love writing for children and can usually churn out a good book in a month's time. This book was no different. I did not, however, create the illustrations and must commend the designers for their excellent effort to make this book as educational and entertaining as possible. Nighttime visitors from the distant past
By J. Chambers
When I was a little kid, I hated green vegetables (still do, actually), but my grandmother lived with us, and when my mom would go back to the kitchen for more biscuits or something, grandma would lean over and eat most of my vegetables, giving me a little wink. After grandma died, though, I was on my own, and that's when - like the young narrator of the story - I came up with the vegetables-hidden-in-the-napkin trick. But my motive was to avoid eating vegetables, whereas the narrator was saving his vegetables for the giant herbivorous dinosaurs who visited him at night, animals like the brachiosaurus and stegosaurus.
His nocturnal visitors were pretty cool to see, but more importantly to the narrator, none of the big predators like T-Rex or raptors would come near his room while the herbivores were there - they were big animals with excellent defenses against predators.
It's a cute story for kids who are at an age where they're just getting interested in dinosaurs. And it may give them an excuse for not eating all their vegetables, although moms will never buy it in a million years!

DINOSAUR TREATS
By Barbara Mojica
Short bedtime story about a little boy who loves plant eating dinosaurs because he fears the carnivores who eat each other and just might want to eat him! The boy hopes these herbivores become his friends. Every night, after his mom reads a bedtime story about herbivores, he carefully unwraps the vegetables he has hidden in a napkin for them and places them on his windowsill. He even shows his dinosaur friends how to eat them and invites them to his bed.
This is a sweet little story, but the illustrations are few and small. The language in the text is more complex. While the book is recommended for five to ten year olds, I think it is most appropriate for children ages six through eight who will understand the story line implications and accept a book without large illustrations

My nephew loves it
By Matthew R.
I got this book to read to my nephew, and it's quickly becoming his new favorite. It's entertaining and still educational. His mom now lets him leave a carrot on his windowsill every night for herbivores. Adorable book that teaches children about different types of dinosaurs - and it's good to stress the importance of eating vegetables yourself too!
